Yesterday was Elizabeth's 4th grade banquet. Here in Romania the children have the same teacher grade 1 through 4. Not too many years ago many children left school after the 4th grade if their families needed help with farming or raising animals. Several moms were teary and they asked me if it wasn't a very emotional occasion for me. It is a milestone for sure and I am saddened when I think of how much the girls parents have missed.The picture is of Elizabeth's teacher and preschool teacher who also came to the banquet. The preschool teacher continued to call Elizabeth for her birthday even when she went on to school.
